Terms of Use

Please read carefully: These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of the "Lineage" application (the "Application"), provided by Daniil Gerasimenko ("we", "us"). By installing or using the Application, you agree to these Terms.

1. Acceptance of Terms

1.1. By installing, accessing, or using the Application, you confirm that you have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms.

1.2. If you do not agree with any part of these Terms, you must not use the Application.

2. Description of the Service

2.1. Lineage is a mobile application that, based on a photo you upload and questions you answer, generates an AI-driven heritage interpretation. The Application includes:

• Generation of an AI portrait of a likely ancestor;
• Origins map showing heritage breakdown across world regions;
• In-character AI chat with the generated ancestor persona;
• Era and region content packs;
• Saved interpretations and account features.

3. Your Account

3.1. To access the full functionality of the Application, you may need to provide an email address. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure.

3.2. You must be at least 13 years old to use the Application. If you are under the age of majority in your jurisdiction, you must have permission from a parent or legal guardian.

4. Subscription and Payments

4.1. Some features of the Application are available only through a paid auto-renewing subscription (Lineage Premium). Subscription pricing and trial periods are shown in the Application prior to purchase. Payments are processed through the Apple App Store.

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID account at confirmation of purchase;
• Subscription renews automatically unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period;
• You can cancel anytime in Settings → Apple ID → Subscriptions;
• Free trial (where available) converts to a paid subscription if not cancelled before it ends;
• No refund is provided for the unused portion of a current billing period, except where required by applicable law.

4.2. For any payment-related question, please contact us by email; refund and dispute handling follows Apple App Store rules.

5. Photos and User Content

5.1. You retain ownership of any photo or content you upload to the Application. By uploading content, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free license to process that content solely to provide the Application’s functionality (e.g. generating your interpretation).

5.2. By uploading content, you represent and warrant that:

• You have all necessary rights to the content you upload;
• You will only upload photos of yourself, or of someone who has explicitly consented to the use of their image;
• The content does not violate any law or third-party right.

6. AI-Generated Content

6.2. You acknowledge that AI outputs may be imperfect, may contain inaccuracies, and may resemble real people coincidentally. Use the Application for entertainment and exploration, not as a source of fact.

7. Prohibited Use

7.1. When using the Application, you agree NOT to:

• Upload photos of other people without their explicit consent;
• Upload content involving minors that is not your own child with parental consent;
• Use the Application to generate, request, or distribute illegal, harassing, defamatory, or sexually explicit content involving real people;
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise attempt to extract source code or models;
• Use the Application for any purpose that violates applicable law.

8. Intellectual Property

8.1. The Application, including its code, design, prompts, and brand assets, is owned by us and protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Except for the license expressly granted in these Terms, no rights are transferred to you.

8.2. AI-generated outputs produced specifically for you may be used by you for personal, non-commercial purposes. For any commercial use, please contact us.

9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

9.1. The Application is provided "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

9.2. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of your use of the Application.

10. Termination

10.1. We may suspend or terminate your access to the Application at any time if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the Application at any time by uninstalling it; cancellation of a paid subscription is handled through the App Store.

11. Changes to These Terms

11.1. We may update these Terms from time to time. The date of the last update is indicated below. Continued use of the Application after changes are published constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
