Privacy Policy

In short: Soma is designed to collect as little as possible. It works without an account, your chart is stored on your device, and we never sell your data. This policy explains what we process and why.

1. Data We Process

Depending on how you use the App, we process:

• Your birth details — the date, time, and place of birth you enter. These are required to calculate a Human Design chart and are stored on your device
• A name or nickname — optional, used only to greet you inside the App
• People you add — names and birth details you enter for relationship charts, stored on your device the same way
• City search queries — when you look up a birth place, the text you type is sent to a geocoding service to return matching cities. It is not linked to your identity
• Questions you ask Soma — if you use the chart-grounded assistant, your question and the relevant parts of your chart are sent to an AI provider to produce an answer
• A device identifier — used to operate the App without requiring an account
• Usage and diagnostics — analytics and crash reports that help us understand and improve the App
• Install attribution — limited data about how you found the App, for marketing measurement
• Subscription status — whether you have an active Soma Pro subscription (via Apple and RevenueCat)

2. Why We Process It

We use this data to:

• Calculate your Human Design chart and the charts of people you add
• Show your daily guidance, transits, and relationship insights
• Answer questions about your chart when you use the assistant
• Send the reminders you have enabled
• Process and manage your Soma Pro subscription
• Measure marketing and understand how the App is used, so we can improve it
• Detect, prevent, and address technical issues, fraud, or abuse

3. Service Providers

We share limited data with trusted providers only to deliver these features:

• Apple — App Store payments and subscriptions
• RevenueCat — subscription management
• Open-Meteo (geocoding, built on GeoNames) — turning a city name into coordinates for the chart calculation
• An AI provider — generating answers to questions you ask about your chart
• AppsFlyer — install attribution
• Amplitude — product analytics
• Bugsnag — crash reporting
• Supabase — secure hosting for the server-side parts of the App

We do not sell your personal information.

4. Data Retention

Your birth details, chart, saved people, and journal entries live on your device for as long as you keep the App installed. You can remove them at any time from Settings → Delete my data, which clears the App’s local storage. Questions sent to the assistant are processed to produce an answer and are not used to build a profile of you.

5. Security

We use industry-standard measures to protect data in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your information.

6. Your Rights

Depending on where you live (including under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act and the GDPR), you may have the right to:

• Access the data associated with your device
• Delete your data — use Settings → Delete my data in the App
• Opt out of the “sale” of personal information — note that we do not sell your data
• Ask us about our practices by contacting us

7. Children

Soma is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us data, contact us and we will delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date below.
